I've noticed a lot of things with Facebook - and one thing that gets me is the fact that users continue to spread bad links - these links get into your account, and then post bad statuses updates. What do you guys think? Can facebook fix this problem, or is it something we have to learn to deal with and just ignore the bad links?
I've noticed that too. Frankly I think it's unavoidable and we are unfortunately just going to have to get used to ignoring them.
I also noticed some bad links on statues updates as well. I'm sure Facebook will come up with a way to resolve and fix this problem soon.
The only way to avoid this, is that you must add people whom you feel you can trust and who doesn't seems to be a spammer. If accidentally you have such person in your network you can easily hide updates from that certain member. Facebook had actually solved this problem already!
Using my current antivirus software, I use a feature they provide that will automatically scan my facebook wall for bad links. As far as links others post, I rarely ever click them because of all the fake links people spread that can be used to hijack your account.
Do you believe if Facebook added more security features - such as, giving users a warning before links would work? Or do you think you can edit your settings "include links", or whatever? It can be done by your phone as well - if FB were to introduced a feature like this.
there are many problems with facebook. the biggest is the fact that it is full of applications which lie, cheat, and defraud users... and facebook allows such applications
No, I dont think facebook will come up with any sort of solution for such links. The only reason being, it will handled by the user. It all depends on individual how do you tackle such links which are not useful to you. Better not to entertain such links at all. However most of the spammers do come up with some viral marketing so that you get attracted, but once such things show up in your messages or walls, just ignore them. Also make sure you report them to facebook, so that particular URL gets blocked and the sender will never be able to use in any further
