OK here is my question i have just bought a few old laptops but every one of them have been cleaned they all have the microsoft product key sticker on the back of them. My question is will i have to buy a windows disk for each one? Or can i simply download a windows disk and use the origanal product key?
You can download the windows, burn it on a disc and install it on your laptops. I suggest downloading an untouched windows version, by that I mean that no modifications have been made to the core system.
Yes ofcourse it will be valid sir Just make sure the version you download has not been cracked or anything.
Windows key will be valid. Save yourself some time by writing each individual one down and then start installing them. I do it as a hobby, so enjoy yourself!
1. If there is less than 256meg of ram do not install XP .It is necessary that the video card does not share systems ram, if it shares then 512meg of ram is the go. 2. Your bios have APIC compliant. 3. Then go to your bios and then boot from cd-rom, put your disc in the ROM and follow the instructions. When you goes to format then select NTFS. The one thing I always like about windows is its installation.
Sometimes if they are certain brands the key is built into the install or original disk or image. The sticker may still work, but you may need a os disk made my the manufacture of the computer. For example if you see HP on the license sticker you may need a HP install/os disk, an oem or standard retail may not work. If you know someone that has say an HP install disk to match your key it will usually work. That is for winxp anyway. I haven't had the need to do so after windows version xp yet. You could possibly call them and activate it I don't know I hear that is a pain in the rump.
The best option is to download it from CD as the product key is available there along with this you can download it from internet too but later problems might arise...so go for the CD option...
It is complicated then new one. I have experience. Just open the Drive and insert the window cd. Then restart it. After this Press f2. Then set up start. Thanks
As far as I have gone through this, they don't really care what source are you installing it from as long as you have paid for the license itself.
You can download windows xp service pack 3 for free at the microsoft website, then burn this to a cd.
can someone send me the link to download the disk from the microsoft website? I have looked all over the site for it but i cant find it. If not the microsoft website any will do as long as it is ligit
