Hi, Firstly please forgive my lack of understanding of the online advertising & marketing world - But I guess this is why i'm here! I have a question regarding a project I am doing with a few friends at university. I understand that webpages are usually ranked according to google/ alexa etc and businesses will naturally look to advertise their product/ service on pages that rank well on a typical search. But is it possible to look at websites in more detail? - can a business locate information of what types of users visit a certain website, where those users they are based, how often they visit the page, what % of users actually purchase something off that webpage, how much it costs to advertise on a website etc?? So I guess more qualitative data rather than quantitative. Also, is there away of looking at webpages and seeing which website ranks the highest in a particular sector, i.e financial services, hospitality, sports etc?? If you know that all/ some of the above can be done or there is a website/ search engine that already does it, it would be great to hear from you! I hope I have explained this as clearly as possible but please get in touch if you need any more clarity on the subject. I'd really appreciate any help, thoughts and advice! Thank you in advance James
Interesting site, I have never seen something that compares site stats like this. Pretty sure I'll use this in the future.
If you're talking about demographics of users that visit a certain website like age, gender, household income etc then quantcast.com is definitely a good resource.
check compete.com and stratbrain.com they are not 100% accurate but they are usefull good luck with your project.
You will get the information by installing any analytics tool on your website. Probably you can try google analytics in this regard which is free to use and install (if you have a website/blog). Regarding the advertising costs a website like buysellads will help you to some extent to understand the ad costs You can probably look at alexa http://www.alexa.com/topsites. On the top you find 2 tabs. By country, By category to solve your issue Hope you find these hopeful
