I don't really know, do you mean profitable for the average internet marketer or for the ones with huge email lists and hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend?
There is no such this as a most profitable niche. You can make money off 99% of niches if you approach the situation right. If you use the google adwords tool you can see how many searchs where made for a certain term and the competition relative for this term, it is a golden tool. every niche is good if you have knowledge about it. So its better making a website on something you specialize in, instead of looking for market that pays the most.
Yes each niche has its own pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but if you can focus on something of interest then you'll have better chance of making a success with it, if any of that made sense.

This is true however there is a saying which goes 'don't mix business with pleasure'. If you work in the area you love for so long it becomes a chore rather than a hobbie and you end up hating it.
If if re talking about online serivces then most profitable nich is web hosting. Look at the Godaddy revenue, then plan to hit 1 billion by the end of this year, so it really is a top niche for now. But you can make loads of many in other niches as well.
To be frank most of the Im products are purchased by relatively newbies. So niches where most marketers fail is good to target like Adwords management etc.
Hey Bryan, Thanks for the awesome thread! Many people will tell you to shy away from the make money online niche. That is one of the most saturated niches there is. Everyone wants to have the top make money online blogging blog, but the chances of that happening now a days is slim. It's even slimer if you don't make any money online, because there are countless people who do make money online. I think besides that niche you should do whatever makes you happy. Your passion for what you do will be what takes you to the top of your niche. Seriously there's a lot of very hot/profitable niches. You have health and beauty offers, weight loss offers, credit report offers, penny stock offers, etc. But if had to give one answer to this question I would definitely say Bizopp. You know the whole make money online products and offers and all that stuff. Everybody wants to work online/at home. EVERYBODY. That's a massive market right there and with the economy right now (whether it's improving or if it's still bad) this stuff has gotten even bigger. Like I said, massive market. Take advantage of it.
I would think these three markets health, wealth and relationships.. but find a niche that you are passionate about because then it won't become a "job"
