Anyone know of a good and reliable data recovery software for windows? I know there is a lot of crap out there, I need something that was proven as good, reliable and safe.

I found a free one which I reviewed here. I wasn't able to recover the files I need, but I suspect it's because they are unrecoverable, I might try a more hardcore solution and see if it's more successful, I doubt it though.

Hey It's too late to get solution but if still you are in look out for a data recovery software for windows. I prefer is the Stellar Phoenix it's recovers the data and keeps a image of the data for future back up. I used the free version first and was bound to purchase the software.

Yes, that Tom said is among the best, I think. I have reviewed many recovery software and that one takes a lot of exposure.
