If you want some ideas to get subscribers or people sign up for mailing list. This will be helpful
and I have written a blog post on a mailist list service Aweber

Collecting email ids are really important.

    Good Luck.

agreed I always use opt in list through Aweber, grat company, easy to use. Building a list is critical but also in my opinion takes time. People aren't as comfortable about giving away their details as they used to be. I offer a free 94page report and even with that it takes time

Without Opt ins lists, I think you will be violating the SPAM law too.

One thing you should put into consideration is testing your email campaign. To properly do this, you should test,
    • Subject lines
    • Landing pages
    • Frequency of emails
    • Time/day of week and
    • Name/address of sender

You may use pre-send spam to test prospects reactions. Testing will go a long way to improve the deliverability of your emails.

    I hope this helps.

Can anyone share what is considered successful:

    a) open rate
    b) ctr rate

I am just getting into emails and I am not sure how far I am from good stats (ie how bad I am doing!). If anyone can recommend any books that would be neat. Cheers guys :)

    ---

Would you say these figures are accurate? Or can you achieve way better?

    Hi Seiya.

Open rate or CTR rate, which is better.

In my own opinion, I'd say it depends on your overall plan. Are you trying to build a brand (image) or attempting to sell a product.

At the time you are still building your brand awareness, CTR may not be so important to you, but you certainly need CTR for sales.

    So, have a plan first.

I have an experience in Email marketing and it was good to have this kind of tactics in marketing.
But you should be also aware of what are the bad side of it in order to avoid bad issues in the
    future.

I actually am thinking of email marketing as well.
Yes,there is no specific section of "Email MArketing" in this forum and I agree with you.
I would like to see it added in this forum.

Also I checked Worrior forum, but they do not have a special section!!
