Can someone help optimize my site? PR4, 6 million daily reach and unoptimized :(

I tried submitting the URL to a bunch of directories, but it was rejected for some reason.

I just don't know how to optimize it, it's a forum which leans towards celebrity plastic surgery, gossip and photos. I've been renaming thread titles etc to contain more keywords, but how do I get more links?

I've signed up to linkmetro but I keep getting links from weird people selling vacations, health food, and fitness things.

i dunno, it's just a stat from alexa, we're tied with lime-light.org which is a huge celeb site so that came as a surprise to me, and we've only been around 2 months.

 

if alexa tells you 6,000,000 for your traffic, you might be misunderstanding their reports...it might mean that you are ranked 6,000,000 for the amount of traffic your site receive for your site according to the people who have the alexa toolbar installed on their browser.

someone else maybe can clarify better coz i'm not sure.

 

oh the traffic rank is somewhere around 400 000. i think most of the traffic comes in from returned users, because from AWstats, I'm no getting much traffic from search engines, I thought I would though at least from teens or gossip readers, they google something like I dunno tyra bank's nose job and we have a post about that.

i think it's pr4? but i don't have many good links..it's just weird, i've been reading a lot but the tips are more geared towards websites, not forums.

 

It's not 6 million daily reach, it means out of one million users 6 will go to your site.

I am just guessing, but that should get you about 200 visitors per day.

 

hmmm awstats put it at least 1000 uniques per day. and vbulletin itself says about 800 unique members per day

so what would a good way to increase traffic be? spread the URL around on other sites? or is that spamming?

 

ok awstats put it around 3000 to about 2500 and the lowest is on saturdays

i've seriously been thinking about just going around the city and just taping up flyers lol

 

also, i want to improve my score so hopefully i can sell some advertising and use it to help buy a dedicated server and put up an image host specifically for the board.

Well I can tell you here is a good site to post an advert $15 for lifetime ad and I my self get around 2000 extra visits a month from Pixel Ad

as a forums expert i can tell u one thing, u need traffic not PR. so u need to make people come to ur forums. setup google analistic that way u will c how many real visitor u r getting. and where they r coming from. which keyword they r using to get ur forums etc.
