Articles are Dead, Brainstorming for New Content Creation Ideas

Google took it's mighty sword and stabbed Article Marketing right in the heart. However, the changes are only in the USA for the time being. The problem is a majority of our Digital Point content creation friends are in foreign nations and they are still churning out article content in the Content category and looking for article writing work in the Content Creation category like crazy. This represents a large disparity between the content we USA based webmasters now need, and what the creators know how to make.

So let's try and help them with some brainstorming for new Content ideas. What else can they make that would help marketing. Try to be specific we all know the four types of content, Images, Videos, Text and Games.

    Some ideas to get started:
    - Top 10 Lists
    - Infographics
    - Video Infographics (infographic in video form)
    - Guest Blog Post
    - Viral Video Commercial
    - Sales Video
    - Top 10 Video List (top 10 list in video format)
    - How to Article
    - How to Video

Whatever replaces articles will, over time, transcend into a similar spam fest which google will eventually penalize. It's a lot better to always concentrate on quality and unique content.

Well - when you own a website, articles aren't dead. You have to learn to write for your website, not for article sites.

I really like using list posts on sites to draw people in. It seems to work fairly well especially on technical sites.

I continue to write articles for ArticleBase from my blogs and haven't seen any significant drop in my SERPs. AFAIK if it's fresh, relevant content it's still okay. They are penalizing people who copy/steal content and post on their sites.

The people affected most will be the spammers and sites posting someone else's content.

Not sure if they are really dead yet. Will have to wait and see if ezine and the others can recover. Don't forget that ehow did even better with the changes which is absurd and can't possibly be what google wanted.

Matt Cutts has said he thought the update did it's job when confronted with that question, and when asked why Suite101.com too such a huge dive. either way, let's try and come up with new content for the creators here and keep this thread on topic :)

As someone said above, concentrate on quality articles/content. This IMO will always be the best way to get Google to like your site.
