I think mostly probably 20 sites of traffic of about 1000 pages views per day

    20,000page views-50,000 page views canmake $100 a day

How do you budget with getting links and content?? Im paying a couple of people to write content for me at the moment and 1 person building links. Of course Im doing both at the same time as well.

    Is this the right approach?

You can have one site and make $100 a day, and you can have 100 sites and make hardly anything.

You can be Bill Gates, or the guy down the street collecting cans out of the trash can to make money by recycling.

You just could have not said that better...I agree. remember that too many sites can cause the smart pricing syndrome..

This is completely arbitrary. It depends on the the site. Personally, I think that it is much easier to make $100 per day on one site with very good content as compared to many sites, but, once again, this is arbitray. Someone may say that it is easier to make $100 per day with hundreds of sites making $0.30 to $0.50 each per day...

I would suggest focusing on earning $100/day on the least amount of sites possible. The way I see it, there are only so many hours in a day and so much time to update each site so rather than having several sites with just 'OK' or 'so-so' content it's better to have just a few sites with great and useful content to keep surfer retention.

Depends on how many you can handle. Some people can handle 5 websites somce can handle 1. It's really what it suitable for your own good.

All you need is 1/100 of a site...if you owned 1% of DP you'd make your $100.00/day.

At an avereage of $.10/click and a 2% click through rate you'd make $2.00 CPM.

Google credits about 70% of actual page loads to their ad loads so youd need 1428 page loads for $2.00 = $1.40 CPM

So, you'd need about 71,500 page loads to make $100.00/day.

71,500 sites at 1 page load each.
7,150 sites at 10 page loads each.
715 sites at 100 page loads each.
71 sites at 1,000 page loads each.
7 sites at 10,000 page loads each.
1 site at 71,500 page loads.

    Take your pick.

Of course this is all subjective data.

Nicely put! if you get that many page loads would be nice to add it pop unders would bump your income another huge load, lets say 1.2dollars per every 1000 pageviews would make it for an extra 85.8 dollars for a total of 185.8 dollars. you just need to get the pageviews!

I get good traffic on my site and thought about pop unders but.....

How many visitors would leave because of them?
How many visitors would not return because of them?
How much money would I lose because visitors leave or don't return?
How many backlinks would I lose because of pop unders?
How much extra traffic would I lose through less backlinks?
How much SE traffic would I lose because those extra backlinks could have boosted my ranking?
How much less could I sell links for because I have a lower PR because of less backlinks?

Needless to say, I have no pop-ups, pop-unders or other intrusive forms of advertising, now, mind you, if my site was MFA then.......

    Agreed!
One GOOD site is better than a bunch of trash sites.. i think you'll find that is the opinion of most good site owners.. although, i suspect the few trash-site owners that make good $$ will disagree..

And yes, my site makes over $100/day (although, not EVERY day).. I have another site that i havnt spent near as much time and effort on, it it hardly makes anything - it's more an effort of love..
