tag cloud is useful for blogs and directories / websites having a huge article base....if ur website is 15-20 pages or some more u dont HAVE TO use tag clouds...its not too necessary....moreover if u dont take care of it while updating new contents and removing broken links ur website may be penalised....i suggest not using tag clouds...instead use strategic links on sidebar..which is much easier to maintain.....tag clouds do not increase pageranks
Personally, I don't use tag clouds. With their varying sizes, they look like a mess to me. However, it could be beneficial in your case or those maintaining sites that update constantly.
I agree. For a personal site, eh don't bother. Good SEO is based on backlinks, proper keywords and fresh original content. This is what Google's new algorithm is focused on. Adding a tag cloud is not going to do much to increase your rankings in the search engines. Fresh, constant updates of original material and proper link building techniques will.
Same here. I see tag clouds like a mess in your site. I first see it as a great one, but later on, it's a mess to see words in bold and varies in sizes.
It may be useful for some but I have seen it mostly as clutter on a site. At first, I thought it was useful to have the categories right there but if you have your navigation set right then that should take care of it.
