Hi Guys, please clarify my doubt

do you think that getting links from sites that are irrelevant to our site is valuable. For example my site is insurance site, is getting links from travel or other sites is valuable. do google consider those links as valuable links. please answer my question

 

Good question. Never do link exchange with irrelevant site. It will harm your rank immediately. Finance and insurance have no relevance until they have not something in range. For example, you can exchange with those sites which has theme on travel insurance etc. Other option is that you can enlarge your topic. You can put your website into business category in various directories.

 

Quality backlinks means a backlink from high pr niche website. So if you are getting a backlink from niche website then it will help to get better result for your website

 

I don't think so getting links from other irrelevant site are valuable. So, try to do make backlinks from your theme related website that'll help you a lot...

These days it will not help you it may actually hurt you, back in the days you could get a link from any website or blog and your rating would go up, these days your backlinks should be from relevant sites.

 

I think you mean 'never do link exchange period. Exchanging links is frowned on.

 

I think getting an unrelated site still counts but it is not as powerful as a related site

 

Thinking that getting links from relevant sites is the only thing that improves your rankings is an SEO myth. Period.
Relevance is irrelevant.
What matters the most is the authority of the sites you get your backlinks from and of course the anchor text you use.

 

As much as possible, acquire backlinks from related sites.
