Online money makers - I need your help!

I have a new site that I started. Basically, I kicked it off by running a bunch of news feeds, Amazon associate store, and Google AdSense for search and content. (With a firefox referral bar)

I will not have tons of unique content - but this is going to be a useful source of information. Over the next few days, as I reach an acceptable point of completion, I will post the site, but for now, I was wondering if anyone can open their treasure chest of knowledge, to help a newcomer? That is, to give some general advice for making money with websites. I am most interested in those who are making serious money with their website already.

My goal is to make $500 per month at first, and eventually, $1000 per month. (hopefully within 6 months)

I know that some of this has already been posted, but there are too many topics, and too many posts. Please PM me if you would be kind enough to help me out.

Thank you very much for any help.

OK, let me ask in a simpler way...

I am new to online marketing, (for the most part) and would like to become good at it. I know that there is a lot of information here on DP. In fact, maybe too much to take in all at once.

Can anyone please help me to figure out how to go down this path? Where do I start? Tips? Tricks?

PM's are OK. I really appreciate any help that I can get.

I have some sites with lots of original content, and some with not so much original content. I expect this all to work together as a system....

You should probably temper your expectations a bit. If you expect to start off making $500/month with your first site and without much original content you are probably going to be disappointed. It's better to aim low and exceed your goals than the other way around.

You are probably not getting much response simply because no one is going to take you by the hand and tell you what to do, nor will they gather all the posts on here for you and organize them in this thread.

Rather than complaining that there are too many topics and too many posts you should appreciate the fact the posts exist so that you can read them and learn.

Read, read, read and read some more then ask specific questions. Good luck :)

No, you got the wrong guy on that one. :D

Err... well, I just don't know where to start. That's why I said, "I'm new to this."

I already have 3 very well established sites, and one new one. I don't see why my revenues couldn't bump up into the $500 a month range, as I'm already pulling down about $100 per month, with no real clue as to what I'm doing.

I'm sure that everything that I need to know exists. Try to imagine being dropped off in a new country, and having to make your way around without even knowing the language. That's me. ;)

    Sorry fixed that =)

Without seeing the sites and seeing what they do all I can say is increase traffic. That should be your focus. Once the traffic picks up the revenue comes shortly after. As for how to increase traffic there are plenty of ideas around this forum, buy some links, submit articles, original content, optimize your pages so they are SE friendly and so on. Put something on the site people will want to come back to or will need to show to their friends.

    Here's a couple of thoughts:

You might want to not bother with Amazon, I'd use Google Adsense graphic ads instead. I've never made much with Amazon.

Focus your news on a niche that might make money and then experiment with other niches and focus on the ones that produce.

Buy some traffic from the PPC (Google Adwords, MSN Adcenter, etc.) for the lowest price ($0.05 or less) and see if it converts. Read up on pay per click arbitrage (buy low sell high).

there's a lot of information around, but you never know which one you can trust, so just test, try and dare and you'll succeed :D

    good luck :)
