Free Classified Ads Site For Link Development

    Hi,

I help run a free classified ads site and was wondering whether you would opt to use free classifieds for link development?

It allows you to advertise for up to 60 days then you can easily renew it which I think is good, but would you go to that effort for a quality dofollow link or would you rather just pay a small fee to have it listed in a 'directory' section permanantly, which we're contemplating doing.

    What do you think?

You could probably run both ideas for the site, but I personally would prefer the free option and renew it myself.

The link would have to be really good, otherwise it would be too difficult.

Yea, good point. Will probaby have to allow some free submissions in the directory first though. Nothing worse than seeing an empty directory! People wouldn't feel the incentive to pay - Even if it is only a few bucks!

I basically use free classifed ads to index my site and in order to get some traffic from them. But it can be worthy if you place a link in the ad for backlink purposes.

I would opt for the free option but to renew every 2 months would be more work, maybe offer just free at first until you have a decent base to the directory, then offer free but with a long approval wait lets say maybe 4 months and then the paid option with immediate effect , im sure that if the link was of quality and not that expensive people would opt for that. I know i would anyways.
    Good luck

I think the free option would work best, but it would be even better if you had some form of automated e-mail go out 5 days ahead of time saying your advertisement is about to expire, click here to renew it.

    Good Luck with your site.

Good points, especially @dannyibiza's idea. Also thanks @afsportsbets - There is a reminder a few days before the ad expires, but maybe we could do it 7 days in advance, then 5, then 3 and finally on the day of expiry. Or d'you think that'd be too annoying? - We know how people are with 'reminder' emails nowadays! Thanks all.
