And how many should I have? Is it bad to do around 50, or is that too many?

    meta keywords don't really matter

If I was starting a site from scratch, I'd look to focus on 1 maybe 2 total topics, and try to post a lot of unique content with keywords within that topic in the title of the document, within the text, and link w/ those keywords in the text.

Well I have a Wordpress site. If I just put keywords in the all-in-one SEO field for keywords, do those pages obtain those keywords? And if I submit an article, my anchor text is "love", does my site still rank higher for other keywords I put, or just "love", since that was the only anchor word linking back?

My recommendation is to user what we use to call overture keywords...now everyone uses google sandbox, do a google search for your niche...then get the keywords you wish to market.

I found the keywords I want, and know which ones I plan on implementing. Now what?

The keywords with more impressions or searches on them are the ones that you want. Take a look at the numbers...

If they are not listed place them in Google and do a search, then take a look at the link numbers....go after the higher link numbers.

I just said I did my research and know which ones I want. Now do I just have to put those keywords in the "keywords" section of the all-in-one SEO area? Then will my pages start getting ranked for those keywords?

Yes, but not sure what all-in-seo area means. They should be in the meta keywords on your homepage and start linking those popular keywords on other website that you may have an affiliate with.

sorry about your shitty answers so far. if you honestly know your keywords, then here is what you do:

    keyword density!
    - in your url
    - in your description
    - in your title
    - in your page content
    - as your anchor text of backlinks (ie. a link on other sites that say "my keywords" that link to your site
    - in some 'h1' titles on your site
those are the real answers to your question. know that helps.

50 keywords might be too much for a new site. I'd focus on about 10 keywords, then establish more keywords as your site continues to grow.

Seriously. This is the right way. Pick your keywords.(not 50 of them) and then include the keyword in your content(3-5%), your title of your post/article, description, and then go get some backlinks with the keyword as your anchor text. If you hire someone, take it easy on how many, how quickly. Oh and "H1" (Header tags 1) is also good.
