    Hi,

I have a domain related to time warner company tw4[dot]info
its a 3 letter .info domain.

I have got a mail from Time Warner company asking me that they want to buy this domain.

Please tell me what should I reply, they are asking me what is the price at which I m going to sell, What is the right price for this domain considering the huge company time warner wants it?

Don't know the price. But good luck! One way to know the price is to list it on Flippa without a buy it now price and an extremely high reserve price on purpose such as XXXXXXXXXXX so that the domain doesn't sell. Based on the bids, you will at least get an idea about the value of the domain. Although it can be misleading, because time warner company may want this domain bad so it may be of great value for them but not for others. However, it's worth a shot to list it to get an idea. You will only have $20 listing fees to lose.

There are sites that are calculating the value of a domain/website, I tried a couple of them for you site and the result was from $320 to $740.

This is a big company and I don't think they want your domain name, it looks a scam to me. They can get better domains if they want so I would treat this carefully.

I think you didn't get me.

This is not a "good name" or "rich keyword" or "high traffic .com domain" but it is a simple name which matches to Time Warner company website tw4[dot]com and tw4 is a perfectly legal word and anyone can own it as it does not have any company's name in it

course575 rightly said it depends on if time warner wants to buy it or not, In fact I have just got an offer buy from one of the time warner's competitor

No one has stated the price yet nor I have given any figure.

So it not about calculating price on any other website or price based on keywords etc.

    Thanks anyway for your reply

Its worth as much as they are willing to pay for it. I would be skeptical though, a lot of scams start out like this.

Ask them to name a price and go from there.

How do you know that email you received is genuinely from Time Warner, and not my next door neighbour? Are they using an official email domain, example: , or is it something like ?

Ask them for how much are they willing to offer. Be careful though. This might be a scam.

Tell them whatever they offer you are likely
to accept, tell them however you have close connections
    with news reporters.

based on everything i know about the domain name
industry i think you should ask for..

let's see let's do some math here..

    time warner , big company
.info cute extension representing search engine
infoseek if was not dead now would have wanted
    .info more than .goo

since time warner is made up of a huge staff
and you are likely getting the offer by a sub division
and not really the high end...

it is likely they have limited budget and it is likely
they want to pay something between $10k and $50k

i would ask for $34k exactly.

    simply ask for $34k really.

Offer them a price, and see if they are asking you for a 'paid appraisal', to a company they 'trust' . If this happen, you are handling with a scammer.

What makes you determine that price? I think you overpriced the domain. If it was the .com, then yes it would be worth that. I think you can get $XXXX for the domain. Did Time Warner ask you to give them a price?

The .net is up for sale at 3000 Euro and the email is not an scam as TW4.com is already one of their sites too.

no one will give you $XX,XXX or high $XXXX for you domain..simply because it's .INFO .just be sure..prepare to negotiate the price on the phone.hoe this will end happily for you with good sale of domain.

It's easy to find out if that was a scam - I suggested I could help him if he let me have the email they sent him.
