Webmasters - Do all of us a favor and login to your Google Webmaster account to see if you have any links pointing to you from Ezine Articles. After checking for several clients it appears that numerous article websites have been pulled from their backlink profiles. Please check and let us know if this is an isolated issue or part of Google's recent announcement that they are going to begin devaluing 'content farms'. I would have assumed that the strict editorial guidelines of Ezine would give it a pass, and that thinks like E-How and Mahalo would be harder hit. If you do have any article submission sites showing please list them here. The only one we are seeing that is so far unaffected is ArticlesFactory.com
I still have all my ezine articles backlinks, but I'll keep an eye on them and update if anything changes.
I still have all my ezine article backlinks. Make sure you check your backlinks in yahoo as well. That will give you a better outlook on the situation.
Mine are there. Them being there or not probably doesn't have relevance as whether Google are devaluing them.
One by one, these so-called article directory sites that do nothing but build links with their spunned and low quality content will be buried to the center of the earth.
My backlinks from ezine are still there. Maybe google thought your posts were duplicated? That's the only thing that I can think of.
that might explain some of them, but not all. it looks like the link indexing threshold on some of the smaller sites may have gone up. the ezine articles also have no external links pointing to them, which might explain some indexing issues.
I use to think Ezine was great to build backlinks on. But what i;ve come to notice is when you check the web for the articles you posted. Sometime the person just removed your url link and replace it with something else. How can someone ever get backlinks like that.
Hum, well a good way to check for sure is to go to your ezine admin area, and copy and paste the entire title of the article you wrote in enzine. Then go to Google and paste your title in between two quotes example "The Day The Earth Stood Still" Your going to see other sites with the same title, click on the link and that just might be your article. If everything is good then your url link should still be there.
Your website gets traffic and back links that helps in increasing your website page rank. What else can be better than that?
I just want to debunk this real quick. Google indexes in two ways, Content and Content + Link. Google can very well index the content of your article and not count the backlink. Just because you can find the article in google does not mean it is giving any link juice to you.
This very well could be an isolated issue, or the beginning of a Google crack down on article directory websites. They may very well be raising the bar on what content will get counted. i.e. in bound internal+external links, LDA, root domain strength and other factors can be used filter out irrelevant content and remove link value from them. if this happens the little article directories will start dying off and a few big ones will remain (ezine, articlesbase, etc..) i'll keep my eyes on it
EZA and all the others all lost serious ranking but I don't think it would cause the backlinks to not be visible.
I'm still showing backlinks coming from EzineArticles.com. Still going to get backlinks from these sites, but they just aren't going to rank as high as they did, or even rank at all anymore. GC
