dmoz listing

    Hi,

I submitted my website to dmoz a few days ago and here's the good thing: I used several sites that check sites for dmoz listing and all said it's listed. The bad part is that I can't "manually" find it. Can these "dmoz listing checker" sites be trusted?

    Thanks!

Apparently not. Try the authoritative source and search for the domain name (without any www prefix etc) at http://www.dmoz.org/ . It can be a week or so out of date though.

The manual check should be better than search. Go to the category in question and see if your site is there. If it's been only a few days, it's almost certain it's not listed.

Jim's method is best, there is no guarantee that the site was suggested to the best category and a reviewing editor would then move it to another category.

Correction: In the current DMOZ 2.0 back end software, our search no longer uses the RDF database and is updated approximately every 6 hours. E&OE

This is how to search in the Google "website.com site:dmoz.org"

    Good luck.

the google clone's search will also show quicker results (It'll show listings in DMOZ even before it's in the clone!)
