'Tis a blight that we must fight. LOL. That didn't sound right.

DP has been a cesspool of noobs for like 2 years now. Well, it wasn't really this bad when I first joined but it eventually became worst.

I reckon we should have this thread moved to Suggestions & Feedback?

With New York, New York, United States as a location - not a chances in Hades. As a former Manhattanite, I can say this without a shadow of a doubt.

But back to the question. I was a noob once. The search button was my friend. When I learned more, I started answering questions. When I saw the same question 10 times in 1 day - I jumped ship. I usually come back to buy content, but I thought I'd come back to see what was going on - it's been a while.

Stickies would be really, really useful.

I have seen forums kept clean when there are active moderators. Perhaps DP can have the old members (not me :D) who are reputable in the community as moderators who can delete or redirect threads which they think are already answered. And of course a separate thread/sticky for complaints about moderators but I think overall quality can be improved significantly with active mods.

Ya, because you're not much of a old member. I'm pretty sure if they were looking for mods, they'd hire some.

Stickies have been really useful without a doubt however, how many noobs do you think reads stickies? How about a sticky that says "Thou shall read all stickies here in DP.".

A change in the way new users register is a must, I say.

Well, if they don't read the sticky, then they'd get warned or banned.

Couldn't agree more. The Commission Junction forum is just like adsense forum. Noobs asking "How do I make money?" , "When will I get paid?" type questions all the time. Seeing that I wrote a post explaining everything there is to know about CJ and that was made sticky. But you know what..... those BS questions actually never stopped.......

Ha ha. And they will never stop not unless DP tightens the check in newly registered members. I wouldn't be surprised if majority of the noobs here doesn't even know what a sticky is.

Spamming makes you all the more noob, noob. Post counts doesn't really matter, what matters is you post useful, helpful and relevant stuff here in DP.

Well if you look at the list of threads, there are a variety of decent topics and perhaps some which might make people sick, but for the most part, I don't think noobs have taken over.

Not unless we do something about 'em :p

I've even lost interest in posting useful information here in Google forums. What you would normally see day in, day out are threads such as "How to increase traffic?", "How to get your website indexed in Google?" and my all time favorite, "What is Google's Algorithm?"

And that's like everyday. They'll eventually take over if the few remaining helpful people decides to stop posting useful replies and leave DP once and for all.

I think as a community it is the responsibility of the members to report each and every such useless post. As members we are a part of this community and staff alone can not fight this mess.

yea apparently its still hopeless because the amount of stupid ass noobs joining and spamming is faster than the rate of us genuine members reporting them. There are 90% of them vs 10% of us that are actually not retarded.
