When I was searching online one webmaster said that. If you have good content google will find it eventually and put you in the number 1 page. Its actually believable because if you type. How can I be number 1 in google.. his website is in number 1 or 2 I'm not that experienced online.. although I've been doing this for like a year I have more to learn. Although there is some truth to it since 1 of my blog became number in google without me optimizing it. Should I SEO my blog/s or is it true that.. I can just sit back and relax let google handle my website.. cause it has already good content? What?!? If you want to be number one for "Selling goldfish in Kansas" sit back and relax, let Google do what they do. And get 5 visitors a year. If you want to be no 1 for a search term that brings traffic and conversions, you need to beat the competition. And the competition isn't sitting back and doing nothing
yes that's true, but its not enough since most of the site that rank higher are no just right their content but also build links to improve rankings..
Do more in SEO, exert effort and if you really want too to beat the competition you need to spend some bucks for the SEO job, there's a lot of seo agency out there. Build more links focus on it then make unique and excellent content on your niche.
If your blog is performing well in Google SERPs, just keep update it as usual, as Google like that. If not, you should do some backlinks building and write good content on your blog.
you're right.Actually good content is essential but that's not enough.you can get first page of google for some keywords but that keywords are not highly searchable so no use even in first page.so find highly searching keywords related to your niche and optimize your site and build backlinks for that keywords.good luck..

if you are sure that your blog has good content then all you need is to bring googles attention on your page this can be done by forum posting, blog commenting, directory submission, social bookmarking etc..

Yes the webmaster was right. You need an unique content and you should update it in a regular basis cause Google loves fresh content. Besides make links with relevant and quality sites that having a good PR in the search engine. Try to make some links from .edu and .gov sites.

If you want to get on top postion for low phrase keywords then do nothing but if you want to get good amount of traffic from different search engines then you have to put your effforts on SEO process because its too hard to get good position on search engines
