Would you like to purchase/use a software to build back-links to your site? Automated software back-links are in vain. Trust not to buy or purchase a software that says they build tons of backlinks for cheaper price within hours. Also the work done by software can denote Google that your website is participating into link-schemes.
General SEO software - I would recommend SEOmoz's software. Also try checking out link assistant for some handy tools. It really depends what you want the software to do, but the days of automating SEO with software are long gone.
there are so many seo tools out there that is hard to recommend any specific ones. also, you didnt mention exactly what type of seo software you are looking for. there are tools for directory submission, social bookmarking, article submission and all of them will give you backlinks. some of them are in double digit range while good ones will cost you triple digit. and there are more advanced tools that cost you hundreds per month in monthly subscription like senuke. all depends on your comfort level
What's your budget. If you are already earning good, then I don't think it would hurt to invest on scrapebox or xrumer because these software will pay for themselves.
there are too many to talk about, however the good ones include IBP, article submitter, seo elite you can purchase any of these and results are good

Generating backlinks from an Automated Software is not an good idea and can ruin all your hard work and wash you money in no time. There are are hundreds of post here in forum which tell you how to generate backlinks, and if you don't want to do it by yourself then you can hire a SEO expert and make things happen......
I agree with you manual backlinking is far better then automated ones if you don't have time then hire some seo professional instead of taking help of some robot machine can't compete with human efforts
Sorry I don't fully agree with you. I got many backlinks from kind of software and makes my blogs have good rank. I also do submission manually. When I have created a unique content, I will submit it manually to high PR article directories, such as Ezine. When it has been approved I spin it & submit to other hundreds of article directories.
