I'm testing a set of keywords using blogger and adsense and am curious how often others add new content. What frequency have you been most successful with? I'm writing the content myself, but I'm not hugely interested in it (more of a long-term research project, which is why I'm using Google's free service to host it) so I was thinking of perhaps adding one or two new articles a week.
It depends really. There are months when I have posted an average of a post every day and others are much drier. It also depends on how often there is something new coming out.
Thanks guys for replying. Do you have any examples when posting more or less than this didn't help? Also doing it routinely just doesn't seem natural to me, I mean I understand that some people will only find the time to do it the same period every week, but that has to be rare. What ruletheworld said sounds as though it is coming from someone interested in their site and not just trying to pump content. Although I won't ever be going an average of around 30 posts a month on this project, it's much more likely to be the other end.
I am not sure about the "help" part. When I started off blogging, and I found a certain day my earnings were high, I assumed I shouldn't "disturb" the content in fear that my earnings or pages/view might decrease. However, most content shows a long-term effect. Every page that I write adds to at least a few page views and allows users to see some new content. I think this is good in itself. Also, I notice that some posts about which I had totally forgotten sometimes bring in search engine traffic for very specific terms used, so yes it is good. Now, as a general rule, I add content whenever I feel it adds value to my readers, having nothing to do with whether it helps now or not. I just wish to cover everything in my field. I sure am interested in my blog and content, so don't just churn it out mechanically. My content can be quite sporadic - even at times that I mentioned about 30posts/month, it is never like a 1 per day. It would be more like a few days with about 3 posts (when I really get on the net and search for new and interesting stuff) and many days with no posting. Sometimes I like to smooth things out by postponing my posts to a future date, but I don't really like to do it.
Since my blog is new I'm making it a point to post daily. Maybe after a few months I will slow it down to three times a week or so, it all depends on how it grows.
I'm so busy these past few weeks so the frequency slow down to at least 1-2 a week. Hope to post more.
I post articles on my blog 3 times a week - you can schedule them in advance with Wordpress so sometimes I write 6 one week and that gives me the following week free to do other things.
I add it on every day. Every day something new I add. It has been well received by viewers and google also. It is best practice.
2 or 3 times a week, because I post only quality and useful stuff, don't wanna fill the blog with useless posts. But if you have good content to post, I think u can do it daily too.
A few times a week, when I have something useful that I want to add and not just add for the sake of adding. Add.
