Why do google ask us not to disclose CTR

I'm just wondering why they do not like people talking about it? There must be thousands of posts here on DP about CTR, and probably tens of thousands with number of clicks and number of impressions (put those together, and what fo you get? CTR!)

I'm just interested to know what they would lose from people discussing it..

Probably because, the information can be used to calculate how much google pays to its publishers and how it keep's for it self.
    *Just a guess.*

Yeah, if we knew how many % google makes, someone might complain about it.

I bet it´s a lot ;) was it a total of 230 billions last year?

CTR is easly calculated by dividing the visits/click (most ppl don't hide clicks when they post adsense revenue screenshots). I think more important is how much a click is valued and the niche/keywords what target it.

I think that will make people email Google saying "His CTR is high. WHY IS MINE LOW"

I don't think Google has any control over that.

Wouldnt you need eCPM, not CTR to calculate google's %?
