I have had a problem with FF for a long time as it used up all my RAM after a while and I had to close and restart it. Also it was very slow a few times. This always happened after a few hours. Then I found this link via digg: http://element14.wordpress.com/2006...mory-bug-but-heres-how-you-improve-mem-usage/ I did all the actions which was very simple but looks complicated. And now, I click on a link and it loads instantly! Also the RAM use is not going up so much no matter if I have 20 tabs open. I have had this problem for months and I am all happy now
I always have a problem with firefox. After opening lot of tabs and working for few hours, firefox really slows down and it takes around 1 minute to switch over between tabs. Is it a RAM problem (mine is 128 mb) ? Will try JIM method and post here the change?
The best way to speed up Firefox is using Internet Explorer instead. There are tons of tabbed shells, some with plugins and others included, and intended for IE since 1998, from which FF copied those ideas.
Then a green would be given from me if it works. But currently I am out of station, will go home , apply and see, if it works or not.
Jim, thanks for posting this, I was having the same issues and now it's a lot better! (it's "sped" not "speeded")
All right. All right. Do you know that each time (not so often) I visit your blog and web design site they look completely different. Sometimes I wonder if it is the same site. Is this the blog you always had: http://www.meekeeonglee.com ??
