1. Create a blog around one niche only, preferably a topic you're interested in or know a lot about. Use Wordpress.org, it's the best blogging platform out there and very easy to use. 2. Write some killer content. 3. Promote the heck out of it. Work on SEO. Do some guest posting on some authoritative blogs, article marketing, social bookmarking, press releases, blog directories, give away a freebie, hold a contest, etc.... 4. Now it's time to monetize it. Find some relevant high paying affiliate offers, or Adsense, etc... You could also sell your own products or sell advertising space. Experiment, until you find something that works. Throwing some banners up will bring in a few bucks, but contextual links get clicked on a lot more and will bring in more money. 5. Consistently work on adding killer content, seo and getting targeted traffic. Always keep learning and experimenting everyday. Make sure to checkout your competitors and some of the other successful blogs in your niche to see what they are doing. It's a great way to get ideas.

There are allot of good themes out there for newbies and take the time to learn how to manage and work your website. Check out Woo Themes or visit themeforest(dot) net. Don't be in a rush to go live because having visitors to a site not throughly finished is stupid. 4. Pick out your niche -do some research to see how saturated your niche might be...coupons are totally covered by mommy blogs and believe me they have this covered. 5. Buy a domain name and get a hosting company (hostgator is by far the best- 24hr tech support and they have bailed my butt out many times when I first started, plus their technicians are well versed in wordpress). If you sign up and use coupon "click" you can get your 1st month for a penny. 6. Visit other websites that use wordpress or blogger, and figure out what to do and what not to do. Most people want to see a clean website (don't use stupid loud colors like hot pink-people won't take you seriously and you will hurt their eyes). 7. Don't use crazy stupid fonts - seriously people, aim to create a good clean, user friendly site. The theme will get you there all you have to do is put a little of you in it and go. 8. Ask for honest feedback and don't get butt hurt if you get the god honest truth. It will help you in the long run. 9. Join forums that will let you self promote and get the word out about your site. Sites like theblogfrog(dot)com is great for woman bloggers just starting out. There are over 50,000 women and some men on here. They trade links, if you follow them they will follow you etc....only follow sites you will actually read. It makes to have so many followers and none of them ever read your blog. 10. Write the way your talk, don't try and write for the masses because you can't please everyone, so why try? It's your blog, write your own original content. Content is king...if your content sucks people won't visit. Worry about making money later, because without followers or readers, you won't get approved by any Marketing program to make money. You have to show you have an actual audience. When you do decide to apply only apply to companies that actually have the products you want to promote. Promote products that actually make sense on your website.
