Definitely. People say that Facebook is catching up. But remember, Google also controls YouTube, which is currently the #2 most used "search" engine.
Thats a rhetorical question. Why wouldnt it be, google has all the resources and motivation to lead on. It outshined all the existing search engines all round the globe. Sure, i think its a dictatorship but aslong it works ... Google is a like a sun among search engines, compared to our solar system. Forget Fb, it can never ever outshine the master, even though the fb is suppose to be a real competition to google by the latest results. End point, google goes on and shall, will, is leading. But remember it is a dictatorship in the search engine world and those almost never end well. Friendly search engine now, a slave to it tomorrow.
So it's not only ok for a new search engine to have slightly better results than google, right? In order to win, that new search engine needs search results that are way better. correct?
I would definitely think so. I believe they have 90% of the search market, with bing at like 4%. Google is constantly pioneering and making the web better, so I can't see people wanting to move away anytime soon.
Not forever. More and more often Google takes control of my searches and doesn't even bother returning results with my keywords in. I was looking for something to do with Inkscape and the first couple of results had NOTHING to do with Inkscape. I found what I wanted on Bing instead. Google needs to respect what you are searching for and not just drop out words as it sees fit. You put the word in the search you damn well want to see it in the results. If it keeps going down this path it will lose market share.
Despite recent high profile complaints about Google's quality of search results, it still by far provides the best search results.
For sure yes, as long as some one else come in Google is the best. Google is the one to bring best search results for any given query.
As of now, YES!!! It will be for quite some time..... gives one of the best search results..... has very good features like adsense and adwords.... but as someone pointed out.... if facebook comes out with a search engine.... it will take over!!!
yes of course. Google would always be the number one search engine even if facebook comes out with a search engine. People would still make use of google.
Obviously Google always remain on top, i don't think anyone can beat Google, because of it's quality results and user friendly features..
I could never see Facebook creating a search engine. Google indexes 3/4 of Facebooks traffic, if Google wasn't around Facebook wouldn't be as big as it is now just from 'word of mouth'. Google will be around for many many years to come, along with Facebook. ~ Slutz ~
