Hi! Firstly! I need to know the main difference between offshore and on shore web hosting? Second what do you guys think is best? Third, please recommend me a cheap registrar with unlimited space (Both Offshore and on shore). Thanks
Offshore typically means that the web hosting is not subjected to the local laws. Meant normally for web hosting whose content infringe upon the laws of the country they are in. There is no best in web hosting, only what is most suitable for you. A registrar register domains, they do not sell web hosting. Also frankly speaking there is nothing known as unlimited space.
By unlimited space I mean did registrar provide unlimited web space for our contents? And did offshore means that we could put copyright stuff of other things like that on our website? Is there any other thing I didn't know?
Once you accept the fact that all domain registrar's will give up info without a court order then namecheap is pretty solid. They have a reputation for not doing anything for anyone unless there's a court order.
Basically I am talking about web hosting which could be offshore and provide unlimited space and provide whois protection.
Many people are caught out with offers of unlimited space as quite often there are restrictions placed on the offer which are not always in plain view. Also, there are two "spaces" in web hosting: 1. Space required to host the files of the web. 2. Bandwidth space incurred by the volume of viewers to a website. When looking at hosting plans both of these "spaces" need to be considered. Neil
