Hi, I came across some websites during the last few months that were showing google ads with there own images. I thought it would be a good idea to discuss about this. Take a look that this page: http://www.advancescripts.com/detailed/165.html If you scroll down to the middle of the page you will see that there are some google ads with 4 images to left of the ads. Do you think these are a good idea ? Do you think they would increase click rate? Do you think placing these sort of images are a violation of google adsense TOS? Give your reviews. I want to know more about this.
Wow, this is some pretty old stuff. It's been proven that images next to ads do improve CTR. Some people say that the images violate the TOS if there is no border between them, but others say that it's fine. An email from Google said that there has to be a border between the images and ads and the images cannot be content-related.
Not if you stick a divider between the images and the ad. Even a border around the images *should* do. Check out http://www.cbrxx.com/
Yes computerised, Ive been seeing that for more than a year now.. but had never discussed it. I thought it would certainly improve CTR. According to google you said that there should be a border between the images and the ads. What you say about http://www.advancescripts.com/detailed/165.html ? Could it be violating the TOS?
Yeh i can see those borders arround the images. If the way this is setup is not violating the TOS, i bet its the best way to show ads.
There's some discrepancy about the ads with or without borders. Some people have said that when they emailed Google about it they said it was fine without borders, but on the other hand some G representatives said there has to be a border around them, so it all comes down to who is answering the email. To be on the safe side though, put a border around the images because you never know what Google will do..
Yes thats right. You never know when google catches you! Im glad to know that showing images is not against the TOS. Keeping a border around it will help .. One more thing, should there be one border around all images? or should each image have its own border? Thanks!
How do you add a border to the pics or a vertical line?? Its hard, I can do horizontal, but vertical, dont know how..any tips ? Ed
Here ya go: <img src="http://www.asdf.com/line.gif" height="200" width="1" alt="" /> Code (markup): line.gif just has be any colored gif. The height and width will size it to what you need.
Huh? A visible table (line width 1px) doesn't count or whats the reason for being so overly complicated?
