Signature text values in terms of SEO

Hi all,
Most of us use our site links with texts in the signature. Its providing us a huge number of following links, but I am not asking about this benefit. I want to know if it is helping to rank our sites in google for the keyword we are using the in link text? If so, how much?

They can be effective, but don't rely exclusively on them.

 

I agree with sawmynaden. They can be effective...especially when they're coming from a forum filled with good content like dp...but don't rely on these types of links alone.

you always put you signature on relevant forums. this is good for traffic and quality backlink.

 

It helps a bit, but not as much as regular hardlinks from other websites. Links from related sites would help you more than having just signature links.

 

Signature links in general have a lowered value because of the lack of relevant text and the like. (Hence why links in the middle fo a paragraph of a 1000-word article are worth more than a single signature link, relevancy.) They also hav ea tendency not ot be indexed depending on a lot of factors (such as who replies in a thread. The more posts on the same page form people with a higher post count, the likelier something is to be indexed and a signature backlink counted.)

But! They're also much easier to earn en masse. Plus they're the kind of link that generates traffic all on their own.

 

So do they actually boost SERPs or not?

All the other fellow members said thats DP is good, i somewhat agree to them! It actually depends on the form and your site's niche!
If you put a link of your "how to catch sharks" in a Football Fan Forum then the link will have very little value! LoL
But if you have a site related to IM then DP is really good.
U may say that my signature here is DP is not an IM niche! Right! But still then link is a link! They count! :d

dp posts are highly visited by Google bots. So dp sig links are very helpful

 

Putting signature up on Dp forum would increase your traffic because they have many visitors. Also joining other forums and putting your signature can help too.

 

It helps but there is no MAGICAL thing about them and it helps a lot on long tail keywords ...

 

There are lots of factor to consider in signature whether it gets high value or not it's really beyond our reach.

 

I have seen no effect at all. That's why I have removed them
