Hey DPers, how's it going? Please if you have a moment check out my site and tell me what you honestly think. http://www.optiontradingpedia.com Thanks a lot!
yeah its a start but the colors are kind of windows 95ish.... no glossy to anything,.... but like I said, its a start.
Hope you don't mind the honesty but I agree it looks a little dated, needs a lot more gloss and shine to reflect a more modern design. Also very wordy, which possibly is how this type of site has to be, but maybe try and reduce the information overload on the home page.
Thank you for your comments so far. Indeed, it does look a bit dated. Could anyone refer me to a site which has just about the right mix of gloss and moderness for reference please? Any additional comments will be deeply appreciated.
I agree with the outdated look but not the content on "information overload". Your website needs to have good content. Leave that. Perhaps you just need a better overall layout. I checked your markup as well and you're showing 52 Errors, 12 warning(s) http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.optiontradingpedia.com/&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0 You want to make sure to fix all this stuff. I'm thinking about some ideas for a better layout, colors, etc. Will reply back here when I come up with something. Cheers
The website is informative. But you used too much of text. Using text is good but concentrate on the spacing between the text. Use good graphics and images to make your website look tidy and Eye-catching.
Thank you so much RedStarMarketing. Will be glad to receive your further advise. Any other advise from the community will be very much appreciated!
*sigh* I kind of wish people would know what they were saying before saying it. You can't use too much text. Keyword count and content is king as well as authorative backlinks. I imagine you are going to tell me a 300 word article is better than a 500 word unique article? Correct keyword density and quality content are some key factors in your website. Please people, if you are going to leave comments on reviews, at least know what you are talking about instead of just trying to get your post count up. I'm not trying to be rude here, but when someone asks for a review and they get a bunch of mixed up information that's wrong, or incorrect, they are stuck trying to figure out what is really right and what's just nonsense. Thank you
It seems like the consensus is that the design is dated and it needs more modern touch. Could anyone direct me to some sites of this kind with the modern touch that you guys are talking about please? Thanks a lot so far guys!
that sites orsum mate. i just had a good look through your site, easy to navigate my way through, easy and clear to read. the mobile look is a good idea, not so easy to navigate with tho. few links open in new window which i guess is no drama. if a person is searching on the net and finds something interesting on your site to read, im pretty sure their not going to give a damn about the design how it looks now. its the content a person is reading and wants to read that matters. looks like a lot of work went into the site, good job with everything and Languages choice not just English, nice. cheers.
I agree it is an awesome site. The content just rocks and this site will rank really well in time. Can you believe people here are telling him it's got too much text Cheers
yeah i did read the replys and was going to say something, but i thought what you said was enough lol its true tho what you wrote. look at wikipedia, one of the most used sites in the world but yet the looks are not real great at all lol. thats a prime example that people just want to read what they are interested in not the look of the site, just the content. well long as the site is easy readable which jamesloo's site is, i cant see why he/she needs to upgrade the look. its not the type of site that needs a flash look about it. just my option anyway.
I've been at this game for some time and know that the ugliest of websites usually end up ranking the best That is to say, however, that a little easier and more professional look wont hurt anything for sure.
Thank you guys so much for your kind input so far! Truly appreciate it! I am wondering if there might be additional features you might like to see in a site like this that will help make the site more useful?
While I was at the site, with me 17" laptop it did not fit my screen properly, other than the other comments I saw. I hope that helps.
