Building an E-mail List with MailChimp

I had recently signed up for a starter account on MailChimp and I'm eager to get going. many of the guides I've read on Internet Marketing have talked about using AWeber to build an e-mail list, however MC seems to have way more features and a much cleaner interface.

I'm wondering if anybody with experience using MailChimp could help me out? I would like to get started building an e-mail list, but I'm not sure how to go about the task. Feedburner allows you to copy/paste some HTML to add into your blog sidebar or heading area.. maybe something similar to this?

I had used mailchimp for a long time for sending newsletters to our clients. I was really impressed by their services
