Don't start something you can't finish. Tell me more about Safari and Opera - why do you put them ahead of FireFox?

Inform us. We want to learn. That is 80% of the users of this thread wants to now either kill you or know why their browser is inferior to two others.

I for one believe that FireFox is the best you can get - This sounds like a commercial - Maybe you are in for a close shave! :)

opera blocks even the popups which firefox doesnt and also opera has in-built download resume thingy which FF doesnt have so i guess opera can be rated above FF . no doubt IE comes at last place and i personally never heard of safari

I use a small and free download manager that is great - you can get it when you search for a free download manager at download.com - and I don't have a problem with FireFox's ability to block pop-ups. But point taken - know I know if pop-ups start to annoy me.

It will take a bit more to get away from my favorite browser :)

Firefox all the way. I even had my own browser, based on IE, with features that after 3 years IE still doesn't have, but when Firefox appeared, I dropped the project. This shows I much I like FF.

IE7 has slightly improved from it's previous version, but as majority of users will always continue to use IE, we will always have to take care of the output in IE. only if microsoft could produce something that is comparable to firefox.

It can't block those "popup-style" div layers, and otherwise I usually don't have problems.

The things about Opera that bug me most are its awkward page rendering (it has some history with mimicking IE, I saw somewhere :p) and the autoscroll icon always resetting my mouse cursor to the center of the page. A good point is that it's now free. I would've rated it lower if it still cost money like before, but it still doesn't surpass Firefox.

I suggest if anyone stared to read this forum from the start up to this post, and still uses Internet Explorer, please could you put up your hands!

Ok, now put them down again.

    Thank you.

PS for the sake of the rest of us and to continue with the quest of making this thread a really long one, write the following in a post a press "Post Quick Reply"

Read it first and then post it:

"I am going to install FireFox now and then I will start using it. Once I am totally convinced that you don't want to use Internet Explorer any more, I will come back and proclaim I am doing well recovering from my stupidity"

If this make you glow in the dark, count to ten, switch the light on, get back to your computer and install FireFox.

We are ready to help anyone that need our help and guidance.... :)

FireFox isnt the best yet... it has got some glitches to clear.. for example its browser till this date crashes many times... and sometimes.. when I use FF for hrs at a stretch.. and open say 20 or so tab and try to download something... I directly hit the blue screen error... Gonna post the error to the development team.

FireFox is really very good... once it becomes the best... id'e say no more IE and close this thread :D

Well it wasn't just the fact how many windows... I run fire fox non stop for say 6-7 hrs... and many times I have around 20 tabs open... sometimes i go as high as having 75 tabs open... on a few occasion my comp crashes directly and I get the blue screen error (Note: This only happens when FF is open, it sometimes also happens when i just have 3-4 tabs open.. so i guess number of tabs isnt the real reason... most times it happens when i try to download something off soureforge... that is most times ... not all times... SO still not sure if it is FF that is causing the crashes or something else.... )

Firefox for sure not, it's really annoying.

Netscape and Opera, but IE for designing since Mozilla browsers lack of support for special filters and effects.

Don't care about cross browser compliance because my site, my rules.

    Is this a joke?

Firefox takes ages to load on startup, and then lots more substituting ist nasty markers for pictures, even though we are talking about seconds, but too much
