What makes a website stand out?

I guess the question was just in general. What kind of websites get (and keep) your attention?

 

i personally like something that allows for user interaction, gives people an open direction, and incorporates linking and external integration.

I stay away from too much flash but a little with some class can go a long way.

I like web utilities or networking tools as well

 

Originality in my mind makes a website stand out from the crowd,you are onto a winner when you are the 1st to come up with the idea and then you start to see the clones appearing this just underlines that your website stands out.
