LoL. Your quote reminded me of a lyric by one of my favorite bands. The song is called Date-Rape:
    Yah, we should be thankful.

I liked your unsourced quote. it certainly sounds accurate:
Don't we all just love higher energy prices? And since the real estate market is just skyrocketing, it seems right to get rid of the mortgage interest deduction. Out of all that, he couldn't even find a billion dollars to chop from the Federal Budget. Meanwhile, government workers unions are marching in the streets for raises, despite the fact they earn double the market average for the same job.

I appreciate the quote because it illustrates the fact that our president is as clueless as you are quite nicely.

You almost got it Breeze. Easy money for people who can't afford to pay it back is definitely a cause that produced the wonderful effect we are experiencing. Now if you can just figure out who pushed, and continues to push for that easy money, and you'll have completed the lesson.

For what it is worth March of 09 continues as the bulk of my purchases made during that period. Long term investing for most including myself does represent the soundest returns, however the short term investors who make a profit, the few of them are the cream of the crop.

I specialize in wetlands and seldom fail to quadruple its value at closing from the seller....swampland included.

How can a reversal from the failed policies of the past Administration be in the wrong direction - what is wrong is your failed perception of the immediate past or admission of its cause.

At least Obama seems willing to have a broad agenda rather than being exclusionary.

There is a sense of justice in recognizing the political courage of the present Administration to properly address the nations economic imbalances in a way for all its citizens to prosper than the selected imbalances chosen for special interests by the previous administration.

The current administration has shown us how much it loves insurance companies, wall street, the banks, GM, walmart, etc.... Now how is that addressing the imbalances?

Thats not completely true. You have left out labor unions :D.

Thankfully, with Michelle's help, BoBo has come up with a plan that will save our economy.

I wonder if it ever crossed his/her mind that if the government got out of the business of running everyone's business, more families could afford to go back to a single income leaving mothers to breastfeed at home.

I should throw up a survey to find out how many people knew the White House had a "Women and Girls" czar. This is someone who spends her time finding new ways for the government to spend taxpayer dollars to intrude on the lives of citizens. Perhaps the key to shrinking government is to first fire all these consultants who spend their time figuring out how to grow it.

No, it is not scary. The chart represents one of the methods used by the present Administration to curtail the Republican Recession.

Expanding the wealth of the nation to reach more of its people.

    Are you completely mad?

You do not "expand wealth" by printing more money.

Yes, printing money does spread wealth and accommodates the dynamics of an expanding economy.

The policies and principles of the above two characters were what led to the Republican 07-09 Recession and the expanded trillion dollar deficits, when they have failed and continue in their pursuits as with the tea party House in Congress - indeed the Depression is a possibility, bogart.

....to help explain for those two - No, the currency equivalent today is not the same as 1776.

Maybe breeze is onto something here. I'm going to try it out this morning. Instead of delivering the standard single piece of toast with my daughter's breakfast, I will slice that piece into 16 pieces. I will be effectively "printing" my own toast, thereby creating a "wealth" of toast, turning one piece into 16.

Now that there are 16 pieces, I can take away 8 as a reward for my wealth creation(lets call it a toast tax).I can save those 8, or perhaps put them in the bag and take them back to the grocery store and ask for my money back (pay down the debt!). If only I could make the store accept my "new toast"!

The point is, even though I may be taking half the pieces of "new toast" away, she should still be happy because she used to have 1, but now she has 8! The bonus is, she has no choice but to accept it because I'm dad, making me the ruler in this little autocracy.
