You could try writing articles about the different things you are interested giving tips and cheats. Start a forum for all the people who are interested in it, also create a MySpace Group. Create a mini website on one of the topics and have affiliate products and adsense on it. Give people something free to join your mailing list then sell similar products to them each week/fortnight.
Genetate any useful content and place it on your blog or any where. Than you can try adwords for getting $$
If your gaming forums focuses on World of Warcraft in any way, there is a lot of money to be made in advertising Gold/account/powerleveling services. To bring more traffic to the forum, given you have a section about WoW, try to gather as much Burning Crusade information as possible. The beta has just started and the NDA has been lifted! So its legal to share info about it. Many players are searching every forum for information about the upcoming expansion. Try to get that traffic going to your website.
Gaming - Maybe a gaming blog or forum? World of Warcraft - blog about Warcraft news? Maybe a website where WoW guilds can gather, post information about their guild, recruit. Making Game Maps - Maybe a tutorial site for designing maps for games, a blog about user-created mods/game maps. Those are my ideas.
write a guide or make tutorials about design maps for your favorite games.. or better yet make video tutorials put it on your site and advertise it on youtube
Make a proxy. They cost $10 for the domain and i make about $3 a day. Get a unique skin and stuff n ull be set.
