    You'll need targeted visitors, and research of keywords.
    Perhaps you should buy some e-books that talks all about this, I had bought it but I don't remember where did I placed it. Sorry. =)

    That is what i was thinking too. By the post title i thought the lucky guy got his adsense income increased but it was the contrary :D. Anyway skylinkseo i would suggest you do a good keyword research less than 10000 searches per month and seo them. You do not have to but several domain. I think 1 domain would be sufficient for it. If you do not wish to go for a new domain then work out with your existing site by changing ad placements. It should work perhaps.
