I thought maybe I had too many key words in my title which was preventing me from coming up on searchs for my 4 key phrases so shortened it. At present I don't come up at all on my key words.
Which keywords you choose to rank well in google are much more competitive. You have to do hard work to rank your site with those keywords. Do onpage optimization first in a proper way, then give your site quality backlinks. So that google give your webpage a PR & rank your page. Always consider quality over quantity when you create backlinks. And ping your backlinks using pingomatic.com or pingfm.com to index your links by google.
One thing that has me a little worried is I have a custom home page fronting my vbulletin site. That shouldn't prevent me from optimizing my site as far as seo right? I'm confused about how to score high on my 4 key phrases. Thanks, Jim
Hi, You should have a good content of your site and proper on page and off page optimization (collect good quality links) u will see the effect after these tasks.
You need to use these keywords in title, meta tags and body of page and develop backlinks to increase ranking on search engines.
Your forum seems quite new, so it's not surprising that you aren't ranking high in search engines yet. I would put some type of introduction on your main page. I see Google Ads and not much more. First, having 2 ads right away on your intro page isn't so great. You'll want to change one out for a key word rich paragraph at least. I also see that it's been awhile since you posted much on your blog. That is really where you can start adding rich content. Blogs are key as they are one of the only places where you don't get fined for having too many words.
The keywords you mentioned are low competition no issue with them you can easily be on Page 1 using them just make backlinks using them in anchor text as I have seen you domain was registered on 22-July-10 and you are having just 26 backlinks from yahoo and post some quality content on your forum.
I checked bike forum it's quite a competitive keyphrase You need serious skills to pull this up Won't be eassy and it won't happen in the next 4-6 months ...
