The 2012 US Presidential Election - Who will run, Who will win???

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by Corwin, Feb 11, 2011.

I think that it's a sure bet that Mitt Romney will run for the Republicans, but I don't thin he'll win the primary.:p

Hillary Clinton might challenge Obama, but she's too smart to make a decision until February 2012.

Donald Trump is making noises about running for President again. Personally, I'd like to see him in the office.;)

Just how the overall picture plays out may have more to do with who wins than whoever the candidates may be.....Wheter the price paid for the economic recovery from the Past Administration was worth the money spent (yes) and not knowing the consequences otherwise is far more difficult to realize than just running on a proposition against "big government".

Mike Huckabee is in the lead as of today with 55%! A percent lead over Mitt Romney. Of course Barack Obama is in the lead for Dems over Hillary who is not even running. If Hilliary wants to run for president she will trump Obama because she has 37% of the dem vote not even yet wanting to be president.

I think I've read that Hillary isn't going to run in 2012. Donald Trump and Mitt Romney may, and other possible candidates are Newt Gingrich, David Petraeus, Mike Pence, Haley Barbour, Paul Ryan, John Thune, Bob Corker, Tim Pawlenty, Charlie Crist, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Sarah Palin, Fred Karger, and...

The only campaigns that I've found online, after a brief search, is for David Petraeus, Paul Ryan, and Mitt Romney.

According to Paul his freedom and liberty has nothing to do with the distribution of wealth.....

According to St. Paul freedom and liberty is wealth.

Lets hope he throws his hat in the ring with Donald Duck.

As a Ron Paul supporter, you may have already seen this. It's a petition asking him to run for President in 2012.

What (I believe) he says is that the re-distribution of wealth is against our liberty.

I don't recall him ever saying that.

Ron Paul has many good ideas. However, I don't think he will be elected as President if that makes you feel better.

I would like to see Paul participate in the Primaries and for him to express his opinions - be his Liberty equated to personal finance or the dissolution of the Federal Reserve as a strategy for reestablishing the Gold Standard I find his opinions entertaining if nothing else.

The parody of St. Paul was not a direct quote from the Saint.......

Donald Trump would likewise be welcome as well as any willing to participate that so chose.

Here's a video of Ron and Rand Paul talking about the budget. There ideas may seem radical for some, but I have no doubt Ron Paul would balance the budget and drastically reduce debt. That seems to be his primary focus, but he's been labelled as kooky because of his ideas on the eventual dissolution of the "Federal Reserve or reestablishing the Gold Standard". In my opinion, I don't really care if they keep, modify, or dissolve the Federal Reserve. As long as the goal, and end result, is a more prosperous, economically strong America.

Breeze, for once, show some balls and make a prediction.

I made this topic to separate out who has balls and who are the pretenders. Which are you?

You are a good example Corwin and of the vulgarity that permeates contemporary politics.

I like Trump's ideas. But it's kinda hard to see him as president, or even electable. He may need to be a Senator for at least a month to qualify. ;)

It would seem running a business, where everyone has to do what you tell them or they get fired, is a lot different than running a government, where you have to make deals to get your own crew to do their job. Not to mention you get your job, and keep your job, not necessarily based on competence but rather on how much you can make people like you.

Off topic, It did get me thinking about something though. Collective bargaining (unions) were created to deal with greedy capitalists who were looking to line their own pockets at the expense of their workers. Since the motivating factors for a politician are completely different, it seems to me that collective bargaining(unions) as related to government jobs do nothing but create ungoverned collusion against the taxpayers, and therefore should probably be made illegal. What do you think?
