I am thinking of adding a blog to my classic car enthusiast website - www.MichiganClassics.com I would like to find software I can use on my webserver and use the url blog.michiganclassics.com if that is possible. Any ideas?
TuckTechniques, That should be really simple. Just create a subdomain called "blog", and add any type of open source blogging package that you feel comforable with... like WordPress. Hope that helps and good luck!
Thanks. So wordpress has code I can install on my server? What about blogger.com? I am currently running a couple of blogs with them.
wordpress has free software you can install on your server. If you have CPanel with Fantastico, WordPress should be on the list of things Fantastico can install for you. It does a good job too -- i was new to WordPress just a week ago and got it running on the first try no problems.
As Godinu said, If you have Fantastico in your Cpanel, you could install Wordpress with just one click.. If you don't ,you could download the wordpress zip and unzip it,upload it,install it.. It really easy ,here's a visual tutorial in Flash which explains the steps involved. That may help you if you are a newbie
