I bought Castellano.CO (comments are welcome)

I found that, while in Colombia the term 'Español' is more used, formally their language is 'Castellano'. Colombian Constitution says it in its article 10:

Since it's parked on Sedo, maybe the flat 10% commission applied to his sale.

as long as all things are equal in everyone's financial situations....
.. i'd highly consider holding onto your LLL'co's at the moment rather than just dumping them for $100

    there's obvious demand there

    @Vcize
I would like to see those studies.
I pretty sure that Google has an algorithm that they use to dictate who gets the top spots for key word searches. This is why we have SEO (search engine optimization).
Think about this. If you go out and buy a premium .COM (lets say coffee...only because I love coffee), you have already purchased one HUGE step in SEO and that is domain "AGE". The .COM of coffee has been around for a long time and domain age is a HUGE factor in SEO and there for a HUGE factor in search engine placement. For that privilege you have to pay a premium. ($xxx, xxx to $x,xxx, xxx)
Even then you are NOT guaranteed to place well. You would have to assume that if you are willing to spend several hundred thousand to a few million dollars for a domain then you will also be willing to hire a decent SEO to get the site to place decently.
Now comes new TLDs that can also be used globally. They are at a slight disadvantage because they are newer, they are attempting (most likely) to break into an already congested key word search area, and most likely do not have a professional SEO to labor over the ventures of getting ranked in the top spots for a given keyword.

To shorten up my long thought. I would like for you to post those case studies (or at least links to them) so what we (the people in this thread) can see exactly how they came up with their conclusions. I personally think that when a multi billion dollar company (Google) states that it does something a certain way, then they probably do it that way in fear that they would get the inevitable law suits for lies or misleading information.
So why Google says that it treats .CO the same as .COM, I tend to take them at their word and would question others to have a different opinion.

Just the way I see it.

    Hey Everybody

I just finished a complete overhaul of my parent company’s website:

    • DesignCompany.co

All New Look- All New Design.
Would love everyone to stop by, take a look, possibly FB recommend, maybe even give some feedback upon your return… would love to know what anyone thinks.

i'd like to think this is a pretty legit site for dot co extension.

Possibly contact me if you need any work done as well.

    thanks everybody :)

    Nicely done.
You have done a great credit, not only to your parent company but to the .CO domains in general.
    Bravo Zulu

Hmmm... anyone else notice that many of the auctions have been lack luster?
I dont care about the extension... just auctions in general. I wonder if domain auctions are on a decline?
Need to get someone to run the stats on that. I would bet that there is some interesting information on that.

Still with $150k at the Sedo auction for .CO... its not bad.
Most of the problems seem to have come from the reserves. There would have been more good sales but they didnt meet the reserve price.
Seems that people over estimated their value for the time being. There needs to be a strong base for a value to be set.
I dont think a few scattered sales of .CO names can be considered a strong base. But the SEDO auction is a good start.
Now people just get to stop thinking "Millions" and start thinking "Thousands".... figure of speech but you get my point

    Just my thoughts.
    Cheers

Is there a way to see how much those domains from the sedo auction sold for originally during landrush to see how much they made or lost on their investments?

    Vcize...
Since most had a reserve price, I very much doubt that many... if any.... lost money.
It would be my assumption that to all came out on top if they did indeed pick up their names from a landrush auction. Looking at some of the names... I very much doubt all of them went to landrush auction.
Sedo did NOT do a great job (in my opinion) with limiting the mediocre names, nor did they go very well with keeping up on the perceived value of the names. Some of the reserves where kind of far fetched.
Given that the extension has gone global less then 6 months ago and that there are still a lot of prime domain names left to pick up. I dont think some of the reserves where realistic.

But that is just me. I understand that everyone see $$$ (dollar signs) when they put some good domain names up but its still too early to really start reaping in the big bucks. Dont get me wrong, you can still turn $30 into $300 or even $3,000 but I would really give it some thought before you put a reserve price of $100,000 or more.
    Just my opinion.
    Cheers

Name.com completely revolutionized its homepage and now the .CO banner is even more prominent.

And this thread has gone dead.
Hmmm.... its a shame. According to other blogs/forums, some .CO domain sales have started to show.
So at least there is movement, I am just wondering why no one is discussing the domains now.

    Cheers

Too sad, but I was sure that this thread will not die. I noticed some nice .co sales and especially lll.COs. I remember few people on this thread own few. I do too but not ready to let them go, they will only get better.

Yeah... as you can see from my signature, I was lucky enough to nab 2 great LLL .CO domain names.
Actual word... Cant go wrong with that.
I also have some other higher end .CO domains. It would be nice to hear what success other people have had with this extension.
There have been too many sales of recent for no one on this forum to have had some success.

    Just my thoughts
    Cheers
