Thats great , i hated symbian, it was good like in 2000 but not anymore :D its old like ms-dos but if they use windows i think it would shock the cell pone markets.

Not sure that's a great move; a phone company with a declining market is teaming up with Microsoft who haven't managed to crack the phone OS market. They would have been better going Android.

The new Nokia CEO is ex microsoft boss , so it was clear that there was no way for Nokia to go Android.

Also Nokia is making best phones , just a good OS and it should continue growing.

Windows OS would be good for large screen phones of Nokia as they got many in that range. Also for the ones having qwerty keypads.

It is considered as a move to thwart the competition from smart phones (mainly from apple @ and the android os) and to garner a better share in the search engine business (as against the leader google). But time alone will tell us how effective the partnership would be in future?

I hope this results in a mad competition between these companies resulting in a major smart-phone war, with numerous new add-ons and feature that are redundant and especially more powerful cellphones in terms of processors/memory and also how many gigapixels they can put into these small packages :p

Either way I don't like smart phones/cell phones, mine is lying around here somewhere but unless he goes off I haven't got a clue where he's at right now :D
I do like the new kindle though! full month of battery and I love the paperless books and carrying around a library worth of books.

There are some linux distros that can also be installed in phones especially the n90 nokia.
hope their partnership can make more phones where MS OS and unix like OS can be installed.
