How many PR0 back links is worth a PR6 back link?

How many PR0 back links is worth a PR6 back link?

1. It's SEO, not SCO
2. I had profound impact on rankings with as little as 12 PR0 links from blog posts - I don't think a single PR6 could have emulated.

It probably depends on the anchor text and ranking you are trying to achieve.

 

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if you gave me 50 pr0 links would I give you a pr6 in return?

Bob Wakfer was one of the 'founding fathers' of this forum and produced one of the early explanations of PageRank. I can't find the original in a hurry but here's a copy of his chart:

Based on that, a PR6 technically is worth 27,681 times a PR1 (not a PR0). Or 92,414 - pick your value.

So, it depends on how you look at it and what you want out of it.

I would imagine your better off buyin 1 pr6 link then try and get a pr6 from pr0 links Just an idea..

 

I think PR0 doesn't pass any PR probably only if is 0.49 probably you get some.

 

I don't agree - I would much rather have a bunch of PR0 links. Think about distributing your risk. All Google has to do is devalue that one PR6 link you have pointing to you - a lot of risk in one place. If you have a ton of PR0 links - your risk is distributed across many sites (oh - I should have made that assumption - the PR0 links are from different domains).

 

I agree in dividing the risk is a more robust PR if you have loot’s of links but better to have them from pr5, pr4 sites.

If those PR 0 sites are of little serious webmasters, those PRs are bound to increase in some updates... and so benefit increases, provided the buyer is honest enough to not remove the link

 

Yes, the chance of the 6 PR0's becoming all PR4s is a lot higher than the PR6 becoming a PR7.

 

That is an excellent point - I wasn't even considering that point. I was thinking of the distributed links as a defensive method, but from an offensive perspective getting multiple PR0 links is a grand idea. Interesting point to consider!

 

I tend to agree as most normal sites will get a little page rank in a few months
ataining PR3 - 4 on the first update is pretty normal for a half decent site
So getting in at the ground level so to speak could pay big dividends later.

 

Pagerank means very little these days. Good relevant one way links with anchor mean alot more

 

Try telling that to the people that lost two points in the last update & make a few bucks from selling links or lost a point so his/her internal pages are not getting crawled as often Or thye reverse of the above two statments
As long as the little green button exists & G keeps changing the value it will mean something. If anything I would dare to say that it will become / allready is the benchmark for what paid links are worth for the people not wanting to
do indepth research but know they need a few links to jump start a site

This is true but you are comparing apples with oranges

Good relevant one way links dictate the place you atain in the serps
for different phrases.

PR is dictated by the ammount / of links you have linking to you & their PR plus the ammount of outward bound links you have PR is all about the # of links & Has nothing to do with the text in them "I could be wrong on that last statment but doubt it" I belive the text in a link has no relevance on the computation of PR it is all about the # of links & the PR of the sites
that link to you.

So lets do a deal I will link to you with a good relevant one way link
From two of my PR0 Sites/pages if you will link to me from one of your PR4 + Pages/sites I'm not to worried about the text in the link I'm thinking this will be a great deal for you & look you will get two Good relevant one way links
& you only have to give me one

 

Has anybody ever worked out the actual conversion...

Example:

PR10 (Highest) - 1 link
PR9 - 5 links is worth the same in weight as 1 PR10 link
PR8 - 50 links is worth the same in weight as 1 PR10 link

ect, ect

 

All pages have Page Rank and pass it, even though their toolbar PR might be zero.
