You didn't get the point here. that " hiybbprqag " had no results. Google purposely put a random website which has nothing to do with that word to see if Bing does the same thing. And after 2 weeks Bing did the same where before that they had nothing to show. Google played with bing and trapped bing to prove that they are copying them. For your reference again http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/microsofts-bing-uses-google-search.html
My thoughts on this hyped carnival is that; 1. A smart/wrong move by Bing to copy Google's ranking signals. Due to this marketing strategy, they've improved their own search algorithm by adding Google's, however they've also put their own company (Bing per se) in a huge risk of public misconception. There are undeniably way more Google lovers out there than Bing and they can easily influence them to use Google if they're convinced enough that Bing was indeed "Cheating". 2. My sympathy slightly goes to Google due to the fact they they've done something so great and somebody just "copied" it. That said, Bing has admitted that they have indeed used Google's ranking signal and added it on their own. Like who wouldn't?! Seriously, if you really want to take out your competitor then it's no surprise that Bing or any other search engines out there would do this to Google. That is how bad the competition is. And after all that hype, I'm quite excited to see how will Blekko join this carnival of search. /rants
I agree with you dear Grimm, i don't think their is any need of a search engine which shows me same 10 blue links in different color. what consumers need is a trust worthy, more competitive alternative for Google search, If any body find that they don't mind to shift their choices, but no one want to see the same results of Google again in Bing,
Agreeable on this one. I'm find it now funny that many people say that BING now stands as Bing Is Now Google.
Bing should not do that, Google search result change fast. Bing need a unique way to differentiate with Google and not follow what Google did. They also some complain that Google could not be the most accurate because most of the mainpages show in rank 2 rahter than rank one of the search result.
IE's dominance? Where have you been lately? Here's the latest browser market share up to Jan 2011 - http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp Just look at how IE has been declining for the past 12 months and how Chrome has increased its own share. Let's talk about dominance As for IE, it was a smart move to get all browsing data from users and send it to Bing. It was on their Terms of Use but hey, who reads them anyway?
From that stat it looks like firefox is also looking some market share as well. I can present my self as an example in fact. My usage habit has been divided between firefox and chrome, while using chrome more often as opposed to what I was doing few months ago. I was amused with the loading speed and cleaner browsing interface.
Chrome has indeed proved to be a very powerful browser. With the additions of new extensions and applications, I can quite see how this browser will dominate the market in the future.
Nope... thats totally wrong.... Bing have its own result. this is a fulish thread. I have checked the two search enginers.. I didn't get same results, totally different one. you people also checkout that.
Where have you been? lol Obviously enough, Bing have already removed the copied search results days ago! Why would they still leave those results if Google has already filed a complaint that they were copying their results? Also, the "Bing Sting" or "Honeypot" experiment has already been removed days ago. Perhaps, you should check this out - http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/google-bing/
Hei, They must have taken car of it after that and you can't judge it now. I'm in the middle of that video I think Harry Shum of Bing had some good points too. They are collecting user data to understand and find out better results. He was saying we should have collective approach to solve search problems. I know it's still debatable. I recommend every one to watch the video from here http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/google-bing/ . There are lots of information there.
My last post was almost the duplicate of your post, LOL. We were writing at the same time you posted 3 minutes earlier than I did.
haha LOL quite indeed. I just watched the video on Cutts' blog. I'ts quite hilarious how Harry activated his defense mechanism. He had a very lame argument and he was trying to cut of Matt whenever he tries to respond to his arguments.
Actually, IE has been losing about 7% market share every year for six years now. Back then, IE had 95% market share.
While I agree with what you've posted, I also agree to your signature links (even though I haven't clicked any of 'em ).
