Hello, I am new to affiliate marketing. I am looking for reselling program. I am thinking reselling webwares. All programs claim that they are the best, so I am totaly lost . In order to don't make too many mistakes, I need some help. I understand that I must test some programs to finally learn the one that is for me, but I cannot test all the programs around there. I beleive that I have to make a first selection, then start to test. Is there any general rules to select a program? How you decide that a program worth a try? I want to thanks in advance any great guy that accept to spend some time to give me tips to make the best selection I can.
If you have web-site/blog/forum start searching affiliate programs that suits your web-site with subject area. If not skip this point Select some affiliate programs that seems to be good for you and then start research them on the following questions: 1. How much money they will give you 2. How much efforts do you need to take to step in to successful income-generating partnership 3. Get know how reliable your partner is 4. Get know how faithful is the information about your possible income is (just your considerations about conversion of your visitors to money, just ask is it real?) Based on the information you will get choose the most suitable for you.
If you are new, one thing you probably need to know is that less than 10% of affiliate offers are likely to make you a profit. I'm sure you'll be attracted by the size of promised $ or % payouts - but they are only of use if your visitors get converted into buyers. So my suggestion is for you to test at least 10 possible offers - sending each at least 100 unique visitors. Any that sell keep working on, testing and retesting - those that don't, cut your losses and ditch. Just make sure you continuously test and improve whatever you decide to do
Thanks. Yes, I saw very interesting offers with a lot a % and $. You believe that hide something? So I must select the ones that have a average % and good conversion rate?
I personally look at the money factor a little way down the line... you don't need to know how much they pay if they aren't likely to pay for very long. First and foremost is the length of time the program has been successfully running and what kind of reputation they have. Are they ethical? Do they know what they're doing? Have people been paid on time... every time? Are there lots of people that make good money with the program? Or just a few big dogs who could make money referring chickens to dentists? The main thing about the compensation plan is it has to make sense. The company has to make enough money, too, or they won't stay in business. And yet the program has to be lucrative enough that it will attract the right kind of affiliate. Those were some of the things I took a very close look at before getting into the affiliate program I am in. I like it when you can get as fussy as you want with your requirements and a company still come up roses!! Hope your hunt goes well for you!
Thanks you Tulasu for your great tips. I am looking from new products, I believe that it could be easier to sells at start (no some many competitor). I found some sites that offer affiliate programs and also I look on networks. Network looks attractive, but is it true? I cannot find the pro and cons for network anywhere? May be some great guy here can guide me a bit. Thanks in advance.
Nice tips. Thank you very much for the whole information. It helped me a lot. I was little bit aware about it but your post gave me clear idea.
You're welcome, Yvestra... however, the problem with looking for new products is that new products carry one of 2 problems. One possibility is that the product will never fly at all. If no one wants it then you have wasted a whole lot of time and money getting the offer to market. And if the product has been produced by someone who's reputation goes before them and is therefore likely to be a success... there is still very little chance of you being able to capture much of that market. All the big dogs form alliances and work together. They will release it to their big customer lists first. So the product might look new, but in reality, the largest part of the buying market will have already seen it. So this first risk is that you may not be able to capture much of the market anyways, whether the product be 'new' or not. The 2nd problem is the life time the product. If you're looking to market electronic products, it's important to realize that the life of the vast, vast majority of such products is incredibly short. Mostly because they are not terribly good. Secondly because the competition in the field is massive. If the product turns out to be any good, it will be marketed so heavily that in no time the target market is exhausted. And there you are... having to look for another product to replace and go through the whole rigamarole again... with perhaps no more success than with the first one. That is the reason that many marketers have turned to something more stable and that will produce income over the long term. They don't want to have to repeat the same work over and over again. Something like me. I promote one company. One very reliable company that produces such amazing health products that people feel dramatic results in very short periods of time. When you combine that kind of product with a company that has both the vision and financial clout to make their vision a reality, then you never need to look for another product to sell again. A company that's old enough to have proven itself, but young enough not to have become stale. A company that continues to release category breaking products that provide us with ground floor opportunities as they open up international markets... This may not be for you Yvestra, so I'm not trying to push you. But it is worth considering. SEO is hard work and takes a long time to become skillful enough to actually make any money at it. If you go with a company that does all the SEO work for you, it is MUCH, MUCH easier. I'd rather let the company do all that. The company provides me with the customers I need for my business, and I collect on all my customer reorders every week. It just doesn't get any easier than that. Anyways... have fun with whatever you do! It's nice to make money and have fun at the same time. Especially if you're bringing value into the lives of your customers at the same time.
