All pages are crawled and indexed except Index(Home) page.

    Hi,

    I running a website www.governmentjobs2011.com. Made in wordpress
    In the first month it sites perform good, there is no crawling issue but one of sudden i realized that site index page is not indexed or removed from google index. I keep on posting, any new page i submit is get crwled or indexed with 5 hours but home page is still not crawled..

    Please let me know the solution for this.
    I have Google webmaster account for this.

    You need more links to your homepage. Are you linking more to the other pages, or?

    Usually, that might end up being classic school example of sandbox.
    Continue your work, add content, promote website and it'll come back. No worries.

    if you are using any cache plugin, turn off it for few days till your home page indexed. hope it may help you.

    Submit the site map of your website. make some strong back link for your homepage.

    But i still wonder why it happen? What is the reason behind this?

    Home Page has the maximum links...tht's why I curious the know the reason for such type of issue...

    Probably because you don't have that many incoming links for your homepage, and the site is too new - which means, its in the google sandbox which can last a few months.

    i think he ended up setting his home page noindex while experimenting with the robots.txt
