Important Update from Paypal for PayPal India Users : Change in User Agreement

The whole fault lies in Paypal. I have seen payment processors in India go through similar issues but they got themselves tied up with banks to escape this. The money transaction is responsibility of the processor and they are not allowed to use this money for any other use or store it.
Paypal is not maintaining its proper legal presence in India. It is Indian money stacked up in US, that makes it black money. You are exporting something from India and the money is going to US. Paypal can do one thing: tie up with some Indian bank and keep the money there and use that for making payments etc.

 

The letter written is ridiculous. Blackmoney on foreign bank accounts are being traced and legal action is being taken.
It is beating around the bush. There are a lot of points which we are forgetting.
The paypal if allowed to work as it was then it can be misused. We might not but someone else. We must find a way to work without leaving loop holes. I suggest:
1. So RBI should allow the use of Debit cards.
2. Paypal should do away with the 50Rs. charge for less than 7000 withdrawl.
3. Exchange rate of 50Paisa would be fair enough

These 3 changes will ensure we work smoothly. What do u guys feel?

Have you even tried using IRCTC.
Try booking tickets for tatkal and you will face the reality.

And watch some TV Channels, this issue is being covered extensively.
The website falls down each day at 8am when TATKAL ticket opens.

 

Well.. I am using IRCTC for the past several years happily.

8 am server down happens during peak periods. That too in India. I dont have any problems till date on that.

By-the-way, your first message was about their email bounce problem. You sent the mail to their non-exist mail box and it got bounced. It is not their problem.

Have you ever tried to sending mails to their EXISTING mail box? I did and got replies every time I mailed them suggestions / complaints.

 

Can i add a ICICI Bank visa debit card to paypal? if Yes how can i do that?

 

No Debit Card. You can only add Credit Card with PayPal Account. Credit Card from any leading bank will work.

 

I asked them what about VISA verified debit card and they said i can and i added and it's working Perfectly. Now i can send money from my VISA debit card linked with my SBI Savings acc.

 

Then why my icici bank debit card is rejecting every time? Is there any permission to be taken from ICICI bank

Me too have an SBI Savings Acc and I already have a ATM cum Debit Card with a "Maestro" logo on it which I got when I made the account..

 

I am buying all the services i need for the next 6 months...hopefully in that time everything could be sorted out.

 

Indian debit cards do not work with PP verifications, you need a real credit card. Also avoid Axis bank credit cards, they do not work most of the time.

Jimmy"ji" lol? I am not sure if there are any "cheap" CC because all the banks follows almost same rules while issuing CCs. I personally have standard chartered credit card. You may need to open an account with them and then apply for CC.

 

HDFC lets us create vcc so i guess, everytime we need a high transaction we can add the vcc to paypal, make transaction and remove it right?

 

i asked in one hdfc branch and that guy asked me what is vcc

 

lol. Don't ask in branch. Ask customer support. The banker knows it all. You can create vcc with all savings accounts. It's free.

Also, is it possible add a card, delete and then add back to the same account later if needed?

 

That will not be ideal, as every time you add a vcc or credit card, paypal deducts some $1.50 to $2 as a trial to verify your card (which most of the time they will pay back but sometimes they dont) and hence it is best to add one credit card and use it to send payments, etc!

 

You can use HDFC VCC for Paypal verification but you will not be able to buy anything using it. They just work for single transaction only which usually happen when PP charges $1.95 while verification.
