I think it's a big genious on Bing's part. But if it's true that they are doing this, I agree with you that it will not be good for the reputations of either Bing or Microsoft itself.

i dont think its the same. just because they are claiming this doesnt mean they are doing it.
shouting more on this will just make Bing more popular.

I suggest to bing that don't just copy Google but improve it so that they can passed Google's achievement.

Agreed. And Google is complaining that Bing is copying their search results. They must do something not to be copied. :D

I don't consider that as a shame for Bing, it's really wise actually. Though, it's not good to copy someone else's results.

Bing seems to primarily take advantage of IE's dominance in the browsers to scrape info from searches and clicks to use in its engine. If that's really all it's doing I don't know that it could be shown to be illegal in terms of copying Google. Google just happens to be the most commonly used search engine, so it's going to be returning them the most information.

This could be investigated by any independent organization so that we can have the perfect truth, any way if bing is stealing the some of google results then it's very bad for search engine industry.

Microsoft responded with a rather vague response. Stefan Weitz, Director, Bing, said:

“We use multiple signals and approaches in ranking search results. The overarching goal is to do a better job determining the intent of the search so we can provide the most relevant answer to a given query. Opt-in programs like the toolbar help us with clickstream data, one of many input signals we and other search engines use to help rank sites.

I dont believe this for a second. I have sites that have been kicked of from googles page 1 to page 3 and doing well in bing and ask. Bing has gone smart and is working like the old google used to. I saw this skit on the colbert report, and Google so called experts made random search with a keyword hbb.... whatever, if a page has that keyword on it and no other sites have any search engine will pull the same site up.
This is a bad, msn got trust of the webmasters in the past year when google said bye bye to the little guy, and now msn is making changes in their algo. This act just tells that msn is getting better gaining webmasters trust to make their results more efficient and google is losing webmasters love who made their search results clearer by seo'ing for those keywords.
