Hehe... a blog is just a website, and as such it's just as capable of being long-term as any other site.

hahaha ok, thanks for clarifying the avg of $100/day vs $6000 a month.
Beause we all know it'd take 200/day to reach 6k

i thought I was losing my mind there for a second with such simplistic mathematics.

actually $100 dollars in not that difficult. You are all thinking of this the wrong way. Its pretty tough to get that much from a blog with adsense. I bet he is using affiliate programs. I have an adult site and my sign up ratio is 1:60 at $15.00 a sign up. So all i have to do is get about 500 visitors. you would need around 100 clicks of adsense for that. Affiliates are where its at.

I think it is the http://www.problogger.net/.
But I have never known for certain if he made the money he claims he did.

If you look around his blog you will see that he has a lot of blogs, not just one.

If he meant Darren (ProBlogger), then I am sure that the claims Darren makes is true.

I got direct links from his blog few times, and whenever he does so, my site gets a visitor flood.

$6K/month is not enough to quit a fulltime job. Subtract tax and expenses and that's around $5K/month.

It depends what full time job you have.
In the UK $5K a month and I would start to think about it.

It is not much, but there are so many good points about it, working from home would be a good pull for me.

And, at the end of the day, $5K is not a bad salary by any means.

I would never keep adsense as a full time job. The most i would ever go is take a part time job, but i will always remain with a conventional job.

I am making more than $100 a day but I do not plan to retire on this income. My all income is from adsense. I think this software engineer who retired on monthly $ 6000 income may not befrom UK/USA but from a country where exhange rate for dollars are really good eg. India or Pakistan. When you convert 6000 dollars to local currency it is considered very good income in these countries and one can live very close to royal life.

    my 2 cents.

Plus, putting all your eggs into the Adsense basket is a baaaaaaad idea. All it takes is one email with the phrase "invalid clicks" and you're SOL.

    Yes, but a $100 a day == only $3000K, (before tax).
So I can see why most people would not quite retire on that amount.

But we were talking about 6K. On that amount I would start to think about it.

I am not quite making as much, but I can only think that if I could dedicate 100% of my work hours to the websites I would do much, much better.

So at 6K I would be thinking about leaving my day job, because I could make twice as much from home.
