It is obvious - people using same password for many sites and probably they don't wont the password to be broadcasted in form password=XXXXXXX;Username=QQQQQQ; like in case of your site (I need to say not only your...). I don't know how many people could listen traffic between me and your site. I don't expect SSL from forums, but you dealing with MONEY and my credit card information so if you don't wanna be hacked just use SSL. Anyways it is up to you to decide, but i am not even registering on sites without SSL secured login page.

BTW I was thinking to order your adv...

It is "Dedicated Servers" and all other hosting related stuff. Sometimes google says that your bid should be 31$ (it is not misprint). So it is cheaper to use paper mail spam ;).
If you have x100 difference in price it is hard to say something about quality... I hope at least 1 click from 100 will be "quality traffic".

Like I said, all data regarding money and creditcard data happens over a secured connection. Would you feel better if we'd md5 your password with javascript before the form is sent?

(Sorry for the uber late respone, I was waiting for an answer but didn't notice the second page!)

I don't see any difference between any kind of JavaScript "encryption" and sending password in plain text. In any case hacker will be able to login by sending HTTP request with hashed password directly. It is much more complex problem then just to make one symbol from another.

And really, what problems with https? The only thing i see - sometimes free versions of CMS, components do not support SSL.

PS: Sorry for bit emotional reaction, but i really don't like when people don't care about my credentials.

Oops, that's correct ;) (Though it does prevent a hacker from knowing your password, hehe)
Well the problem is that we don't have the budget to pay 1.5k per year for an SSL certificate, and when creating one ourselves the user will be prompted to ask whether to trust it or not. Now we've been wondering what this would do to our users, and we came to the conclusion that they would be scared away by it!
Please don't think that we don't care about your credentials. If we would've had the budget for such a certificate we would've gotten one right at the start.

Wow, I honestly hadn't an idea that those certificates were available for anything less than 1k! (Found that quite expensive for something as lousy as a company saying "Yeah it's good")
I'll see what I can do.

What about Clickbank, probably you should just pay a look at - imerchant.com/webmaster.cgi
I think this is just one of the smartest one.
However, lukads may help you too; but I prefer imerchant.

Nice list, I'll have to check some of the alternative sites.
