DigitalPoint Escrow Service Maybe?

I was just thinking, all the members here are mostly webmasters and there is a lot of trading that goes on.. some in real high value.

Just as a matter of convenience, How wise would it be to start Escrow service at DP?

 

Very inconvenient. It would add accounting to Shawn's plate and accounting is a massive PITA. Why would DP offer it when escrow.com offers it already...

 

Well DP could charge for the service... as for Escrow (To be frank I haven't used Escrow till now), I was just looking at offering some services in the range of Usd 1k - 3k. Was a bit skeptical about trying out those services. Would prefer someone I trust to it. (Ok kill me for sounding stupid)

 

Iy was a valid suggestion. The legal and licensing implications of it would be the deal killer. There is some fairly heavy regulations involved in doing it legally.

I do agree with you that most of the escrow services seem a bit over priced.

 

In general, no suggestions make it that add manual work to either the admin or the mods. All money making schemes so far have been declined too. If an idea can not be implemented in a 99% automated (programmed) fashion or a one-off implementation, it's highly unlike it will pass.

Yes, DP could easily add a directory and charge $50 for inclusion.
Yes, DP could add escrow service.
Yes, DP could sell banner signatures.
Yes, there's tons more that would work well on DP.

In the end, this is a forum for discussions.

 

Maybe shawn could get some of this top members to run the escrow service for him and they get a percentage of it?

The Itrader and Reputation are here to identify the good people..

If you enable the escrow service.. You need to face so many problems like illegal money and more..

So the forum with only discussions is always good in DP..

Dude the owner just wants to stay out of hassles and wants this to be a normal place. Which is good too, simplicity rocks if you ask me.

admin can really earn huge if he like, but i read in many posts he made it clear that he is nit running dp just to make money.

 

i guess with itrader ratings, its fairly easy to trade here, no escrow really needed, trade with reputed , respected members here
no one wants a -ve rating.
