Used Google Adwords, had clicks but 6 unique visitors. Lasted 10 mins...

Hi, I just launched a Cheap Unlimited web hosting company and i tried to advertise on Google Adwords, and it seems like its a waste of money. What am i doing wrong? Should i be using a SEO company? whats the best way to approach this?

 

SEO for adwords? Never knew they did that.., there's some good videos on youtube, check them out - just type in effective adwords.

only if they are very stupid and like wasting time and money. Google has sophisticated click fraud detection in place, anything that crude would be detected and discounted in seconds.

People can offer you suggestions on how to help but it's impossible to diagnose the problem without information. What do you mean by 6 unique visitors lasted 10 mins?

It could be a number of things that could be the problem, it could be either the ad, keywords or the landing page, but to understand the problem you need to know what your CTR is what your quality score is, what your boucne rate is like etc all this information helps.

 

9.59 per click seems like a lot of money. my guess would be you're bidding on head terms like 'web hosting' on broad match. I wouldn't go in that cut-throat competition area and focus on longer tail, where the clicks are cheaper. Get a good CTR, raise your quality scores and then you can return and compete with the big guys for the big keywords.

 

web hosting niche is pretty expensive to advertise with adwords


I have a blog abotu web hosting and i get around 1 dollar per click from adsense at least.

Which means that the bids are more than 1,5 dollar.

I guess you must look for a Certified Adwords Partner Agency to help you. But you will surely need a budget

 

if you decide to hire someone to manage your adwords campaigns, I suggest you contact the guys at receptional. I met them at ICE show in London and they certainly know how to run adwords accounts. I think they have a free campaign review feature, so you can give show them your account and see what they have to say about it. and yes, you sure should have a budget beyond 6 uniques, otherwise it's just a waste of time

maybe your visitors are not convinced with the features or even with the quality of your homepage. in order to be able to sell webhosting, your website must look genuinely professional else visitors will bounce back away.

You have a low quality score so you are paying more for your keywords. My guess is you are in the 3/20 - 2/10 area.

I haven't looked at keywords in your niche however I know it is very competitive.

Then, 6 visitors that's not a lot. You need more in order to make proper judgement.

However, just by looking at your question I can tell that you will probably not have a lot of people buying from your site.

It's just a guess but I have a feeling your site is not optimised to covert lots of people into buyers.
